The First Weeks

10:40 AM

So, it's been a little over 3 weeks since Lennon was born. These few weeks have been an adjustment. It really has been much easier than when Milo was born. Perhaps because we've been there and done that. Don't get me wrong, it's no cake walk..... But I look back on those first few weeks with Milo and it was like I was drowning....drowning in emotions and responsibilities.... and trying to figure out what in the world I was doing and I felt like I was failing at about 95% of it. I'm not trying to scare you off of having kids... it's just much harder than I ever thought it would be.... but once you get the hang of it, it's wonderful...still hard, but wonderful at the same time. I also have more support this go round with all my Ladies here in Weybridge. Ever since JR went to work, they happily stop by once a day just to give me some Adult conversation and play with Milo for a bit. I don't know how I would make it without them.

I sorta got off topic there. My point was that the whole baby part of it has been much easier this go round. I thought Milo was a laid back baby, but I feel like Lennon is even more so. The major adjustment this time is learning to take care of two. Even if they love each other as much as these little girls do.... Milo loves giving her kisses and snuggles.

The challenge is learning how to divide our time... still giving each one tons of love and attention. Milo has taken to Lennon quite well. We have yet to have a time where she wants her to go away... quite the opposite in fact. The only time Milo gets upset in regard to Lennon is when she wants to hold her at a time that she can't.... or when Milo is going to bed and Lennon is not there. Lennon seems to like Milo. She doesn't fight it when Milo wants to hold her, kiss her, or pet her.... and when Milo talks, Lennon's eyes follow her.

Anytime Lennon is upset and I am busy cooking dinner or whatever, Milo holds Lennon's hand and speaks softly to her. It's so cute.

and because I know you're dying to know, here are a few fun facts about the Booker Girls.

We measured Lennon's length at 2 weeks. It was 21.5 inches. Milo was only 20" at birth. Her hair was 1.5" long.

They both have this line that goes across the bridge of their nose between their eyes. You can still see Milo's when she makes certain faces (like in the picture above). Milo had smooth feet with no wrinkles on the bottom when she was born. Lennon had wrinkly feet.

Milo preferred to have her legs straight and stretched out. Lennon likes to have her legs froggy style.  They both LOVE bath time... not sure if that's because I get in the bath with them or what, but it's like a spa. They are so relaxed.

All 3 of us had dark brown hair when we were born. So far, mine and Milo's turned blonde so I'm assuming Lennon's will to.....below is me as a baby.... don't laugh. I know I looked like a boy. (see Milo's hair here)

Sue recently got Milo this stethoscope. She loves it. I don't know where she learned it, but she'll put it on you and ask you to cough. lol. She's listening to "baby La La" here.

Milo is decorating Lennon with Stickers..... Lennon isn't too sure about it. lol

Lennon loves the milk. She weighed 8lb 12oz at 12 days old. She is definitely bigger than Milo was..... she's pretty much outgrown all the newborn clothes. She's too long for them. Thankfully, I didn't purchase too many newborn things.

Look at that sweet face... JR and I have always said we'd have 2-4 kids....just evaluating after each and deciding if we wanted another. After Milo I decided I wanted 3 or 4.  Right after Lennon was born I was seriously questioning whether I wanted another.....just because juggling children is a lot of work..... but thinking of not ever being pregnant again or having a little bitty baby just kills me. I'm sure there will be more little Booker Babies down the road.... just not any time soon.
