Makapuu Point Hike

So we have decided to take up hiking. Last month we did the Kailua pillbox hike, which was amazing. Last weekend we decided to make an attemp at whale watching which leads us to hike #2 (makapu'u lighthouse). I heard from someone at work that you can usually see whales from the lookout. We had no such luck, but it was absolutely stunning. We packed a picnic and sat at the highest lookout while we had lunch. It was so nice. Here are some photos from the hike....

So....Tired....

Overall the hike was great. I was bummed not to see any whales, but maybe next time. The trail is paved which was perfect for everyone, but i think oliver's feet got hot. I'm trying to talk JR into letting me get him the booties... thats not going well so far. There are lots of little areas to get off the beaten path and take photos. I love the kailua pillbox hike, but i have to say that this one was better... hope you enjoy and take notes....so ya'll can tell us which ones you want to do when you come....
