Pro-Bowl/Maunawili Falls Trail

5:43 PM

Well, some of you have keep us true to our word on informing you what's going on here. We realize it's been a couple of weeks, but in that time no significant activities took place. Until now... (cue music). This weekend I attended one of the Pro Bowl events downtown in Kapiolani Park, which is down on Waikiki. Since this is the last year that the Pro Bowl will be in Hawaii I thought I'd better go to something to commemorate it. After getting to the event on time (since I hate to be late to things) I was about 40-50th person in line for the autograph session. But before the line got to long I went to buy a mini pro bowl helmet to have autographed. After waiting 2 HOURS!! They finally brought out the first two signees... guess who it was? Nope not the Mannings, or Lewis, or Petterson, or any other worthy Pro Bowler. It was two local boys that played on the super bowl champion Steelers and Jaguars. Come to find out these guys don't even play anymore, they coach high school football on the island. Needless to say I got out of line along with about 100 other people and walked around the park.

Saturdays Hike: Maunawili Falls/Trail
Well, we got back into the hiking mode again and this one was a lot different than previous two. The day was very overcast which actually made it really nice because we got extremely hot once we had to hike the 100s of steep steps at the end. We talked to people as they were coming out (covered in mud). So we proceeded on our way with a clean white dog and excitement for jumping off the water fall. None of us came out clean though.....here are a few photos from the hike.....and by the way...One of the streets we took to the hike was called Kalaniana'ole.....its just so fun to say.....

This is what alot of the trail looked like....exposed roots and mud!!!

Its a jungle out there.....

These are make-shift stairs that they had to put in because you would just slide down because of all the mud....

These guys had their ipod playing crazy music....it was a really cool vibe...JR and i both jumped off.....

The stream had pretty fat round stones....

JRs muddy shoes and our muddy oliver.....
