Be Quiet...Be Still...

So for Veteran's Day we paid a little tribute for a fellow Veterans by taking the Kailua/Lanikai "Pillbox" Trail - well half of it. We wanted to spend at least an hour at the beach beofre the sun went down. The story of the pillboxes is that they were built in 1942 as a fire control station with the codename Podmore, for the 3 and 5 inch guns, in Wailea for defense of the Bellows Air Force station to the south.

The first pillbox is that small box at the top of the hill.
